The fifth annual Achen-Gardner Construction “Rock the Block!” is excited to announce the return of the Bourbon Jacks Main Stage and its talent lineup for November 8.
The block party will take place on Saturday, November 8 from 12 p.m. - 10 p.m. on Arizona Avenue between Chandler Boulevard and Frye Road. The Bourbon Jacks Main Stage will be located inside the event’s all-ages beer and wine garden on Arizona Avenue and Chicago Street. This year’s talent lineup features country music and southern rock acts from popular local bands including A Boy Named Sioux. The band has received numerous awards for their blend of “Outlaw and Honky Tonk Country.” Some of these awards include 2008 Phoenix New Times Best of Phoenix award for "Best Local Band," 2008 Phoenix Music award for “Best Musical Group” and 2009 Phoenix/L.A. Music Award for "Country Group of the Year. The group has been on stage with country stars such as Lee Brice, Keith Urban, David Allen Coe and many more.
Tony Martinez, Urban Country Band, Zona Road and Southern Country will also be performing throughout the day on the Bourbon Jacks Main Stage. Tony Martinez resides in Nashville, Tenn. where he performs downtown with his band and on the road with acts like Whitey Morgan and the 78's, JP Harris and the Tough Choices. He also spent the last six months opening for Jake Owen on his Days of Gold Tour. Urban Country Band is a local country rock band known for its vocal harmonies, Zona Road, an all-male country group, has been touring the Southwest since 2011 and Southern Country mixes in classic rock with its country performances.
Artists will also be performing on the Rock the Block! Community Stage located on Arizona Avenue just north of Frye Road, along with the performers for the “Chandler’s Got Talent” variety act talent competition. Prizes will be awarded to the winning acts.
Rock the Block! is a free, family-friendly block party that celebrates the fun, dynamic lifestyle that Chandler offers while promoting Chandler-based businesses. The event garnered more than 18,000 attendees in 2013 and is expecting to attract even more in 2014.
The block party, which is organized by the Downtown Chandler Community Partnership (DCCP) and Steve LeVine Entertainment & Public Relations (SLE), will feature a 50,000 square foot Kids Zone complete with interactive games, rides, face painting, and inflatables. There will be over 100 retail, arts and craft vendors and some of the top food trucks in Arizona.
