Thousands of people gathered in downtown Phoenix over the weekend to celebrate the State Centennial and to enjoy Achen-Gardner's Centennial Way project.
Best Fest, the official Arizona Centennial Celebration, took place on February 11-12, 2012. It was a beautiful weekend for the event which provided plenty of food, music, entertainment, and educational/cultural villages. On Saturday, February 11th, members of the Centennial Way Design Build Team gathered at the Native American Village (located at the Carnegie Center) for the dedication of newly completed streetscape. The project transformed Washington Street and the Arizona Capitol Mall entrance into a destination for residents and visitors to celebrate Arizona's 100th birthday (February 14, 2012) as well as the State's history and culture. Among those in attendance were Ken Bennett, Arizona Secretary of State, and Greg Stanton, City of Phoenix Mayor. Here are a few photos from the event.
